About the course
Using samples can be great but if you want to really stand out from the rest of the crowd, knowing how to make your own sounds from scratch can help give your tracks a unique edge. Experimental multi-genre dance producer LCY breaks down their steps for how they take everyday sounds and real drum recordings and warp them into something completely new to form the heart of a track.
What you’ll learn
LCY’s electronic tracks don’t sound quite like anything else out there – and a large part of why is their amazing use of completely unique sounds. You’ll learn how they create these sounds from the most mundane sources and how they take a real drum recording and warp it to form the backbone of their experimental tune.
Get ready to learn:
- How to build your project around a story.
- Why creating your own sounds from scratch is so important.
- How to use creative field sampling to construct a drum beat.
- How you can manipulate and use full breakbeats in your track.
- How to use organise and structure your tracks to break out of the loop.
