Hailing from Brockley, South-east London, producer and rapper PREM is a pioneer of stretching the boundaries of modern rap music. PREM’s production boldly and precisely balances his influence of 80's funk, with 90’s rap and grime; complimented by weighty percussion, notably associated with 80’s movie soundtracks.
Founder of the Navy Music Group and with over a decade’s experience in music production, PREM’s infectious style has thrived; producing many fan favourites with his brother and UK music veteran Novelist, as well as working with Manga Saint Hilare, Fekky and more, to produce hard hitting classics.
PREM furthers his production through his love of being a selector. Curating and DJ'ing his monthly radio show 'Ocean Radio', in line with his strong maritime themes; crafting an array of funk, soul and hip hop every month on the ever-growing London platform, Balamii Radio.
As an artist, his rap style is a marriage of both smooth and dangerously electric energy; pairing the grit of his south London roots, with the swagger of the rap greats of the 90’s and 2000’s from across the USA, as well as London; with pride in his ability, diverse community and creative skill set, being the backbone of his artistic standpoint.
