Jaden Osei-Bonsu—also known by his stage name Eerf Evil (an anagram of "Live Free")—is a South London-born rapper, youth worker, and community activist dedicated to using his lived experiences to foster social cohesion and inspire change. Drawing from the challenges of his upbringing, Jaden's music provides a powerful lens into the complexities of life, exploring the motivations behind people's decisions and struggles.
As the co-founder of The Silhouettes Project and director of the community-focused label Root 73, Jaden has played a pivotal role in creating music platforms that empower emerging artists. His efforts have garnered national attention, with The Silhouettes Project's latest release achieving over 3 million listens on Spotify in just six months. Through these initiatives, Jaden has created spaces where music serves as a vehicle for community-building and social change.
Beyond music, Jaden is deeply engaged in advocacy work. At the Centre for Knowledge Equity, he supports a coalition of LEx (lived experience) artists who use their art to challenge systemic injustices, including issues within the criminal justice system, immigration, healthcare, and education. These artists, many with intersecting lived experiences of racial and class inequality, are influencing policy and advocating for reform, often navigating these spaces as freelancers or volunteers.
In 2021, Jaden released his debut EP, which was met with critical acclaim, earning over 1 million streams and recognition as BBC 1Xtra's EP of the Week for two consecutive months via Jamz Supernova. With over 70,000 monthly listeners, Jaden continues to blend his passion for music and activism, inspiring the next generation of socially conscious artists while mobilizing global connections for meaningful change.
